Program Description

The Community Loan Center (CLC) operated by Homestead Resources has been operating in West Central Indiana for nearly 10 years. It is a low-cost alternative to expensive payday loans. The employer-based, small dollar loan program saves clients hundreds of dollars in interest and fees, helping employees become financially stable at no direct cost to the employer. Employees must be employed at their current employer for a minimum of 90 days and can be extended up to 180 days as a loan requirement depending on the partnership agreement with the employer.

How it works

  • Money is deposited directly into the borrower's checking account within 2 business days of signing the loan note after employment is verified.
  • No credit history needed, no collateral documentation needed.
  • Repayment is made through payroll deduction or bank account and borrower can take up to 12 months to repay.
  • Payments are reported to the credit bureaus to help build positive credit scores.

Requirements for Loan Approval

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Employed a minimum of 90 days at current employer partner
  • A checking account
  • Valid picture ID and social security card
  • Four personal references

Steps to Getting your CLC Loan

  • Employer signs up for program
  • Submit your application online at clcwestcentralindiana.org
  • Employer HR department verifies your employment
  • Electronically sign loan documents
  • Funds transferred into account
  • Repay your loan through payroll deduction or bank account
